The Union Minister of Jal Shakti launched the Punah Bharan Mobile Application to support scientific groundwater recharge planning. The application was developed by BISAG-N in collaboration with the National Water Mission (NWM) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It helps users identify potential artificial groundwater recharge zones within a radial distance of up to 3 km. The application also helps identify suitable artificial recharge structures according to local geographical conditions. Its web portal provides village-level Artificial Recharge Structure (ARS) zonation maps, Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and thematic layers.

INS Sahyadri, an indigenously designed and built guided-missile stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, participated in the India–Republic of Korea Navy (IN–RoKN) Bilateral Exercise. The exercise aims to strengthen maritime cooperation, improve interoperability and enhance operational coordination between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy. The exercise reflects the growing strategic partnership between India and the Republic of Korea. It also supports India’s efforts to promote peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

Researchers have developed Lumina, a large computational cosmological simulation model to study the evolution of the universe during its first two billion years. The model incorporates dark matter, ordinary matter, radiation and cosmic reionisation to simulate the evolution of the early universe. Lumina generates testable predictions that can be compared with actual astronomical observations. It helps scientists understand how dark matter created gravitational wells that attracted gas and enabled the formation of the first stars and galaxies. The simulation numerically models physical processes involved in the formation of cosmic structures.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme in October 2026. The scheme has a total financial outlay of ₹1,856.67 crore for the period from 2026 to 2033–34. Announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, it aims to promote domestic sports goods manufacturing, investment, innovation, exports and employment. The scheme aligns with Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. It proposes dedicated Sports Goods Manufacturing Zones (SGMZs) to bring manufacturers, suppliers, testing facilities, design centres and ancillary industries together.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the establishment of PRAGATI Park across 69.52 acres in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The initiative aims to develop Gautam Buddha Nagar as a major regional hub for artificial intelligence (AI), robotics hardware and software testing. The park will follow a dual-zone model, combining a public-private partnership (PPP) anchor zone with a privately funded expansion area. The project aims to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s technology ecosystem, encourage investment and promote innovation in emerging technologies.
