The Youth Resources and Sports Department, Government of Nagaland, received the SKOCH Silver Award for its Grassroots Football Festival, also known as the Baby League. Launched in June 2024, the initiative aims to promote grassroots football and encourage children to participate in sports from an early age. The programme caters to children aged 5â12 years, providing an inclusive and enjoyable environment for learning football. The festival organises small-sided matches across four age groups: 5â6, 7â8, 9â10 and 11â12 years. The initiative prioritises participation, enjoyment, learning and child development while helping coaches identify emerging football talent.
